Jami's High School dance team "The Warriorettes" are officially into competition season. Their theme this year is "Slumber Party" and its really cute. I will post a video of their routine after this weekends competition. Their first competition was in Charleston, IL on Jan 14th. They did awesome and placed 1st. They also qualified for State at their very first competition! This means they will compete in March for the Class 1A title @ the Assembly Hall in Champaign, IL. They will be performing this weekend in Clinton, IL and then on Feb 4th they have a competition in Tuscola...at the Tuscola competition, Jami will also be doing a Hip Hop solo. Also, at the Tuscola competition, the Warriorettes select Senior boys to be "Warrior Babe's" our nephew James has been selected as on this year. This means that at the end of the competition, the "Warrior Babes" will perform a dance routine the dancers teach them. Its always a crown pleaser and so hilarious to watch. I will definitely post the video of James dancing for everyone to watch:)

WOW.....Can't believe it's 2012 already! Hope Everyone had a fun New Years Eve! Here is a recap of our 2011 year! I am going to start youngest to oldest with the kids:
Jenny turned 11 this summer, and she is now in 6th grade. She played on a traveling softball team all summer. We traveled all over for different tournaments. She played in the softball World Series on July, we stayed in Indianapolis for a whole week of softball for it. We had alot of fun and Jenny made some new friends. AND softball is starting back up this month. She will start indoor tournaments in February and March.
Jami turned 17 this year and she is a Senior. In March, her dance team qualified for State. They performed at State and placed 5th. Jami has had a busy year. dance camp most of the summer, powder puff football, dancing at all home football games, and then dancing at Memorial Stadium in Champaign when the football team played for the state title in 1A football.
Jessica turned 20 this year and is on her Sophomore year at Parkland. She is working toward her degree in Dental Hygiene. She just got a 4.0 and made the Dean's List. We are so proud of her...She has managed to go to college full time and hold down an almost full time job! She is still dating her boyfriend Austen. They have been together for 2 1/2 years. He is also going to Parkland. He is almost finished and will have a degree in Criminal Justice!
Finally, Jordan and Amber....Jordan turned 22 this year. He is still in the Navy and he is planning on making a career out of it. By age 38, he will be retired from the Military! Jordan and Amber did a vowel renewal in May. It was a nice ceremony and a fun reception. They got married in 2010 on the beach of St. Augustine, then had a ceremony in May for family and friends back home. On October 30th of this year, they celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary. Jordan and Amber are currently stationed in Jacksonville, FL....Well, actually Amber is in Jacksonville....they finally got housing on base. They moved into a brand new townhouse on the base....But....then the day after Thanksgiving, Jordan had to deploy. He is currently in Qatar. He will be there until June. We have been able to skype with him a couple times. Below is his address if anyone wants to write to him while he is away. I am sure he will appreciate all mail.
Jerry and I just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary on Dec. 29th. WOW!!! Where has the time gone...Jerry is still working at the U of I as a plumber, and I am still working at Syngenta....and I am now the Distribution Manager of outsource corn! Woo Hoo!!!
As you can see, the Knight's had a great 2011....Here's to an even better 2012!

Finally.....Football is over, and we finally found time to get Jami's Senior pictures taken. She wanted to have it done when the leaves were changing, but because of football and dance, time slipped away. So we had a friend of ours...Rachel Ray....take some pictures of Jami. They turned our really good. I also had a couple taken of Jami and her cousin James since they are graduating together, and also some of Jami and Jenny. I wanted to take a minute to brag on our nephew James. He is a Senior this year and he is having an amazing year in football...So far James has scored 10 touchdowns and has had several interceptions, and fumble recoveries. We enjoy going to all the games just to watch him play. The Warriors have had another amazing year. We just won our game in the final four in Playoffs. Now for the 6th straight year, the day after Thanksgiving, we will be at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL watching the Tuscola Warriors play their last game of the season and we hope by the end of the game, we will be Class 1A State Champions!!!!!!!!!! We are so proud of the whole Warrior football team and especially James. He has not only had an amazing season in football, he was also the recipient of an award for being great on the football field and also having straight A's in school. James and one other player received this award. This is definitely an accomplishment for him to be proud of. WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU JAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!

We won the Homecoming football game....49-14! James had another awesome game! We are so proud of him. Saturday night ended Homecoming with the dance. Jami had her friends come over for pictures at the house, then we went to the courthouse, because its tradition for the Senior class to go there and take pictures. It was James and Jami's last Homecoming, and Josh's very first Homecoming!

Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally were a success... It was Jami and James last time participating in it! Jessica and Jenny drove Jerry's truck with the dancers in it. Then during the Pep Rally uptown, all the Senior football players were announced. Now time to get ready to watch the Warriors take on the Warrensburg-Lathem Cardinals and bring home a Victory!

Jami's final Powder Puff Football game is in the books. Seniors beat the Juniors 24-14. It was a brutal game! LOL!!! Jami managed to get a broken finger out of it. But it was all in fun. Jami's cousins James and Josh were there to watch all the fun. I was able to snap a picture of all 3 of them together! Trust me...it's hard to get them to pose for pictures together. Tomorrow is Homecoming in Tuscola....Kids get out of school at 11am....Homecoming parade is at 2:45pm and all 3 of them will be in it, and finally the Homecoming Football game....We are playing Warrensburg-Lathem....Hoping to watch James get another touchdown. He is having an Amazing Senior Year in football! Josh is also doing awesome in Freshman/Jv Football. He has a few touchdowns of his own! The week will end on Saturday with the Homecoming Dance. I will be adding pictures of all 3 of them dressed to kill Saturday night!

Well, It's that time again....Homecoming 2012. This will be Jami's last Homecoming! The week has been full of fun things for the students to do. Sunday night, all the Seniors went to one of their classmates house and they all painted their jeans. Its a Tuscola tradition for the seniors to spray paint a pair of jeans...Not sure why...but Whatever!! Monday, they wore ugly clothes to school and then played in an ultimate Frisbee tournament that evening. Tuesday was wear duct tape on your clothes. Yes, duct tape! They now make it in different patterns. The kids got really creative with their outfits. They it was pack the place for the volleyball game. Then all the Seniors went out to Scribner's house and painted the outhouse so they can burn it this week. Today is wear your class colors, and Seniors are wearing their painted jeans also. Then tonight is the Annual Powder Puff football game! Jami is having a great week with all her classmates. Here are some pics of the painted jeans and the girls painting the outhouse!

What a Great Labor Day Weekend we just had! It all started on Friday morning. Jordan called me and said "Mom, your car phone keeps calling me! (he was talking about my OnStar). I said it can't because the car isn't even on....He was very persistent that it was calling him and asked me to go check it. Well, I didn't go out there right away because I thought he was crazy! LOL......so a few minutes later I am looking out the window at work, and here come Jordan and Amber walking up to my work. He was trying to get me to come outside to surprise me, but when I didn't, they decided to come in and get me. They had decided the night before that since Jordan had a 4 day weekend, they would just jump in the car and come home...Didn't tell anyone. Just wanted to surprise everyone! They did a great job. I took all 3 girls to lunch on Friday when they got out of school early and Jordan/Amber were there waiting for us. Girls were so excited to see them. I think the funniest was when Jordan got to the football game in Monticello Friday night...Jerry and I kept their secret that they were in town as Jordan wanted to surprise the rest of the family....Jerry and I were standing behind Mary. She was leaning on the fence checking out the crowd and oblivious to anything going on around her. Jordan walked up beside her and leaned on the fence too...it took a couple minutes for her to turn his way, but when she did, she screamed. She got mad at me for not telling her he was home! LOL!!!! They got to see all their cousins, and even got to see Jayda and her new baby. Jordan also got to watch James play football and score an awesome touchdown right in front of us! It was a nice weekend, but went by way to fast. Jordan is going to be deploying end of Nov/beginning of Dec. This was his chance to come home and see people before he leaves for 6 months. Jordan sent a text this morning to let us know that they made it back home safely. We are planning our trip for Nov. We are taking all 3 girls and heading to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with Jordan and Amber before he deploys. Should be a fun time:)

Week #1 Warrior Football!!!!

Well.....Week 1 is in the books...Warriors beat Clinton 42-7! It was an awesome game. Our nephew James (aka Jimmy) scored the first (and his first varsity) touchdown of the game!!! It was awesome...he ran it 41 yards for a TOUCHDOWN. Then right at the end of the first quarter, Jimmy ran another one in 20 yards for his 2nd TOUCHDOWN!!!! He was awesome and we are so proud of him. He is going to have an amazing year if he keeps playing like this. Our other nephew Josh is on the Freshman/JV football team. They also won both of their games against Clinton and Josh scored 2 touchdowns! Those Knight boys had one awesome week!!!

Jami and her dance team had their first halftime performance of the year. It was really good. Can't believe this is Jami's last year in dance:( The girls did an awesome job! Can't wait to see what their next routine is...They are dancing to Michael Jackson!

This week, we are traveling to Monticello to take on the Sages...Hope we come home with another Warrior Victory....I will keep you posted.

Summer is over...School is in session

Well, Summer vacation is over and the girls are all back in school! We had a busy summer. Jenny played softball all the way through July, and Jami worked and had dance camps. Now it's time for school and watching our 2 Nephews play some Tuscola Warrior Football!!!!!

Jessica is starting her Sophomore year at Parkland. She is working on getting her Dental Hygienist certificate. Jami is a Senior in high school. She is on the dance team, and we are getting ready to have senior pictures taken, pick out a homecoming dress, and get ready for all the half-time dance routines! And Jenny is in 6th grade. So far she loves it, but we have not been in school for a full week yet.

Jordan and Amber are doing well in Florida. Jordan is still stationed in Jacksonville, FL. They are on the list for housing on the base, and are anxiously awaiting a call to tell them they have a house. Congrats to Amber, she got a job working at the Youth Center on base. Good Luck Amber!!!! Jordan is going to be deploying end of Nov, beginning of Dec. He will be going to Bahrain for 6 months. We are going to travel to Florida with the girls for Thanksgiving so we can spend some time with Jordan before he deploys.

This summer I also became a Great Aunt! My niece Jayda gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Mystic Arriana Kilduff. She was born Aug 1st at 9:31pm. She is 8lbs, 5.9 ounces, and 21 inches long. She is beautiful!

ECI Dynamite

Softball season for Jenny is in full swing...Jenny is on a traveling softball team out of Danville, IL. They are called ECI Dynamite. She plays games at the U of I women's softball diamonds during the week, then on the weekends, we are traveling all over for softball tournaments. Most of them have been pretty close to home. This weekend, we are going to Santa Clause, IN. She is playing in a tournament at Holiday World. It's an amusement park/water park. So it will be like a mini vacation. Jenny has been doing excellent this year. Her main position is 3rd base, but she is also the back-up catcher when the other girl needs a break..Usually because of the heat. That catcher's gear is pretty hot! Jerry is the assistant coach for Jenny's team. Sometimes the 2 of them butt heads...LOL!!! We will be going to East Peoria over 4th of July weekend so her team can compete @ state, then the last week of July we are in Indianapolis for the Softball World Series. We had a beautiful wedding on May 14, 2011. Even though Jordan and Amber were already married, the Blessing of the Marriage ceremony and reception were beautiful. We started off with the ceremony, followed by a dessert reception. There was a candy table which the kids just loved. It was full of assorted candy and little bags for the kids to fill up. Awesome idea! There was an assortment of cupcakes, cookies and pies also. Then the DJ started playing and everyone was on their feet dancing. It was a wonderful night. Sunday, Jordan and Amber made the drive back to Florida to start their new life together. Jordan said they made it home about 3:3.0am Monday morning. I am so proud of Jordan and Amber and I wish them nothing but happiness in their marriage. Jordan had a lot of family travel to attend the wedding. His grandparents came from Colorado Springs, Co and so did his Uncle Tom and family. His 2 Great Aunts made the trip from California to help him celebrate his marriage, and finally, his Aunt Kim and family came from Ohio to spend time with them.I am attaching a video of pictures from the wedding. Saturday was Prom....Jami and her cousin James are both Juniors so they were all dressed up and ready for a fun night. They had dinner and a dance, then Sunday morning at 6:45am they loaded a bus and all the kids headed to Six Flags in St. Louis for Post Prom. They had a really great time. Here are pictures that we took at the house before everyone left for Prom. Can't believe they are Juniors already....They grow up so fast...This time next year, they will be attending their SENIOR Prom and we will be planning for graduation!

So.....I have been thinking about doing something in my spare time that I really love to do! And that's baking! So I have decided to try making cupcakes out of my home and selling them. A friend of mine had been doing this with decorated cookies, and she is doing really well. She talked me into trying it with cupcakes. So today I spent 6 hours in the kitchen making 5 different kinds of cupcakes. So far, my family is impressed, and so are a our friends (Shane, Jodi, Doug and Sherri). I even have Jessica giving me feedback and I am taking them to work tomorrow to get feedback before I jump into this...So if all goes well, I might be making some extra cash baking:) Here are some pics of the cupcakes I made today. Jenny had her first softball game on Friday night. She is on a traveling softball team called ECI Dynamite out of Danville, IL. She played against her 2 best friends who are twins. Even though Jenny's team lost both games, Jenny played great. Her main position is 3rd base. Jenny had a perfect bunt, and she also hit a pop fly to the outfield. Well, we survived another year of Warriorette Dance! Jami and her dance team has a really great year. They competed @ Charleston (received 1st place), Clinton (received 2nd place), Villa Grove (received 1st place), Tuscola (received 1st place) and Unity (received 3rd place). They qualified for STATE at their very first competition. The girls did really good at state. They competed against 11 other schools in their category and came away with 5th place! Not Bad! State was held @ the University of Illinois Assembly Hall in Champaign, IL.

So dance is officially over for this school year. They held tryouts 2 weeks ago, and I am happy to say that Jami is once again on the Warriorettes Dance team. And she will be a Senior! Woo Hoo!!!

Merry Christmas for the Knight's

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas...For the first time in 3 years, we had all 4 of the kids home for the Holidays! It was really fun. We had a great time with everyone. Jordan was able to come home for almost 2 weeks and we loved every minute of it. Jordan and Amber left the day after Christmas and headed back down to Jacksonville, FL as Jordan had to be back at work on Tuesday. Jessica also came over and spent the holiday with us...We ate lots of food, laughed a lot and to A LOT of pictures! You know me...I love my camera and love taking pics of the kids:)

For those of you that really know Jordan, he is a Huge Green Bay Packers fan...well, his new wife and her family are all Chicago Bears fans...Jordan made a bet with them that the Packers would beat the bears in a game this year...Well Jordan lost and his punishment was he had to wear a Bears jersey to Christmas this year...Below is a picture of Jordan hanging his head in shame with a Bears jersey on...And Jerry with him showing him that his Pittsburgh Steeler's are 6-time Super Bowl champs...Poor Jordan got crap from everyone...It was quite funny.

Anyway, Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with all your loved ones...This was one I will definitely cherish...Next year at this time, Jordan will be on deployment again..Somewhere in the desert...So this was a special Christmas for all of us.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

WOW!!!!!!! Where has the time gone...I have been so busy that I haven't had time to get on here to do any posts...Hope everyone is doing good. Can't believe Christmas is already upon us. We are so excited for Christmas this year...It will be the first Christmas in 3 years that we will have all of our kids together. Jordan drove up from Florida last Thursday and he is here until Dec 26th. He is then driving back home to Jacksonville, FL. I told him that while he is home I need a family photo..He wasn't thrilled with the idea, but he will let me have one:) He is doing really well in Florida...Amber is going back with him for a couple weeks, then she will be flying back home. Jessica is finished with her first semester at Parkland College...She is already registered for next semester and doing really well. She is also working at TGI Friday's in her spare time. Jami is busy with dance..They are going to be starting their dance competitions in January. Their theme this year is Race Car Driver!!!! I will download a video of her routine once I get to see it. Jenny is busy with school and basketball...She has basketball games every Saturday starting in January and then softball practice every Sunday starting in January...So there once again go our weekends..Once day we will get to rest, but then we will be sad because all these times will be gone. We are busy getting ready for Christmas as most of you are probably doing the same...But as we come upon this Christmas, i would like to ask everyone to keep Aunt Brinda and Uncle Doc in your prayers. This will be their first Christmas without Stephen and I know its going to be a tough one...Stephen was such a wonderful young man and we dearly miss him. Well, that's all I have for now..

Tuscola Warriors!

The Tuscola Warriors are once again having an awesome season. They are 7-1 with only one more game before play-offs begin. Our nephew James is a starter on the Varsity football team and we have made it to every game to watch him. He has done so well this season. He even had the play of the game against our rival Unity Rockets. James blocked the ball from being caught and the other team was not allowed to score! James also plays JV football and averages 2+ touchdowns per game. GREAT JOB JAMES!!!! I am attaching some photo's of James playing football and also a very excited Uncle Jerry!

Jenny has just finished with another season of Soccer! She loves playing soccer and loves it even more when she gets to be the goalie! Now she is going to be playing winter biddy basketball and then she start traveling softball in January. She tried out and made ECI Dynomite. It's a traveling softball team out of Danville, IL. So once again 2011 will be extremely busy with softball and Jami's dance competition....If we weren't so busy, we would be bored. One day this will all be over and we will be missing it!

Jami has been busy this school year with Dance, work and school. The dance team performs at half-time of all the home football games. She has been doing an awesome job. Once football is over, she will perform at all the home basketball games and then they will get into their competition season. Jami played powder puff football again this year and attended the homecoming dance. It's been awhile since I have been able to get on here and post any updates. We have been so busy with kids and sports...Time really flies!

Jessica is going to Parkland College. Majoring in Dental Hygiene. She is also working as a hostess at TGI Friday's. Jessica had an accident at work on Sept 18th which also happened to be her birthday. She was at work and she passed out. When she passed out, she hit her chin on the corner of the hostess stand. then she hit the brick floor. She split her chin open so deep that her chin bone was exposed. She was rushed to the hospital and they stitched her up. She received over 20 stitches inside and out. While she was there, she started puking up blood/blood clots. They did a scan and discovered she had a small bleeding ulcer. This is what caused her to pass out. Jessica has been suffering from Migraines alot and she has taken Ibuprofen over the years. I guess she has had enough of it that it ate a small hole in the lining of her stomach. The doctor when in a cauterized it. After a 2 day stay in the hospital, she was home. She is completely healed and taking all the meds she needs to prevent migraines and to control her ulcer. I have pictures, but they are extremely graphic and I don't want to freak anyone out. But if you would like to see them, shoot me an email:) Im attaching the picture of when her chin was stitched. If you want to see the before picture, let me know.

Today is a sad day for the Knight family..Jerry's dad lost his battle with cancer on August 31st @ 8:25pm. You were a wonderful person and you are going to be forever missed...We Love you Jim!

Back to School

Well, Summer is over and the girls are back to school. They had a great summer but its always nice for them to go back and for all of us to get back into a routine. Jessica has started her freshman year at Parkland College. She is studying to become a Dental Hygienist. She is also the new hostess @ TGI Friday's in Champaign....One of my favorite places to eat:) Jami is a Junior in High School and she is also on the High School dance team. She has practice every night after school until 5:30pm. They will dance during half time at all home football/basketball games. Then in January they will start competing against other schools for a state title...Last year the dance team placed 3rd @ State. Jenny is in 5th grade. She moved from the grade school to a mile down the road where she goes to the Middle School. She was sooo excited to be in a new school. Jenny is getting ready to start soccer.
With the start of school comes another favorite time of ours...WARRIOR FOOTBALL!!!! Our Nephew James plays on the Varsity Football team and we love to go watch. Their first game is actually tomorrow night in Shelbyville...So we will be making the drive down there to watch him play. Our other Nephew Josh is in 8th grade and he plays JFL football, so when he has home games, we also like to go watch him play. I love Football season...Warrior's and Steelers...What more can a girl ask for!!!!!
We had a great summer..We were able to take the girls to California...We went to San Francisco for a couple day, then traveled to Vacaville where we spent time with my wonderful Aunt Sharan and Aunt Elaine...and also my Cousins Lisa and Marcello...we took the girls to Alcatraz, Pier 39, Sacramento to the California State Fair, went to the Jelly Belly factory...WOO HOO!!!! My favorite..and then to Discovery Kingdom for a day of roller coasters with Lisa and Marcello...Oh yes....the girls and I hit the Awesome outlet mall in Vacaville also.It was a great time!
Now we are going to be spending alot of our time helping Jordan and Amber plan for their wedding...If you haven't already, mark May 14th on your Calendars so you can attend their wedding:) hope everyone is doing well...we love and miss all of you!!

Seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital, and now she is growing up and going to be in the 5th grade! Yesterday was her birthday but we were so busy that i didn't get it posted. Jenny and I went shopping for her birthday. We had to make our frequent trip to Justice (a young girls clothing store) because a girl can never have too much clothes:) and then the family went to her favorite restaurant "Texas Roadhouse" for her birthday dinner!!! Jordan's Visit

Jordan came home for 2 weeks, and WOW did it go fast! While Jordan was home, we had a 21st birthday party for Jordan as he turned 21 while in Italy. His best friend Sam came home to visit while Jordan was here and he too just turned 21. So Sam's parents along with Jerry and I threw them a party for all their friends and family.

But this year was different...There was one person missing...The boys left a blank spot for their buddy Russell who is out on a ship with the Navy and didn't get to come home..So hopefully next time Jordan comes home..All 6 of the boys will be here.

Jordan left this morning (July 7th) to go back to Florida. He is going to be stationed in Jacksonville for the next 1 1/2 years. He bought himself a car and he packed it up with all his stuff and hit the road to make the 15 hour trip to Florida...Jordan will be back home a for a visit @ Christmas time.

Well, another softball season has come and gone. This year Jenny played in the 9/10 yr old league. It was totally different from last year. In this league, the girls pitch 1st and 3rd inning and then coach pitches the other innings. Jenny practiced really hard and got to be one of the pitchers for her team. She was actually really good. She pitched all their games except 3. So now we get a break until soccer starts back up in Sept.

Well, after 7 LONG months, Jordan is coming home!!!! I am going to Bloomington tonight @ 10:30pm to pick him up from the airport. He is so excited to be coming home and we are too. Jordan left in November and deployed to Italy. He just got back from Italy on June 7th but has been in Jacksonville, FL since his return. He is going to be home for 2 weeks for some R~N~R. While Jordan was in Italy, he hit a milestone birthday. That being his "21st". So on July 3rd, we are having a birthday bash for him. Everyone is invited. It will be at the Tuscola Moose from 7-11pm. So please stop by and wish Jordan a Happy Belated Birthday! Jordan will be home until July 7th at which time he will be driving his car back to Florida so he will have his own transportation to get around while down there.

After the Cardinals game, the Tuscola Warriors got to play a baseball game on the field against out local rivals the Unity Rockets. It was something fun that our coach sat up. Both schools had to sell a bunch of tickets to be able to play there. Our nephew James plays on the Varsity baseball team so we went down to watch him play. What a wonderful experience he will always remember. Good Job James!

We took the girls to their first Major League Baseball game on Thursday. We had an awesome time. It was a perfect day, almost 80 degrees and the sun was shining. I think the highlight of the girls day was getting to see Fred Bird. Both girls got their picture with him and he signed their shirts. We are Pittsburgh Pirates fans, but have chosen the Cardinals as out local team to support. Game started out with "THE FIGHT" and the girls thought that was hilarious, players coming from everywhere onto the field. Cardinal's lost but we got to see Pujols and had a wonderful time. Jami went to her first Prom last night. She went to Villa Grove. A really good friend of hers asked her to be his date. He came over and gave her a beautiful corsage, and after many pictures, they were off. Prom was at the Holiday Inn in Urbana. Then post prom is today @ Six Flags in St. Louis. Talked to Jordan on Skype yesterday afternoon. He is back in Italy. Jordan said he had an awesome time while in Germany for 10 days. He said when he is out of the Navy, he would love to just live there. As of right now, Jordan will finally be leaving Italy and heading back to the USA around June 3rd. He will arrive in Jacksonville, FL where he is going to be stationed. Jordan will get 2 weeks of Liberty and be able to come home to Illinois around June 24th. We are so excited. Jordan left for Italy on November 29th (my birthday) and has been there every since. 6 months is a really long time to not be able to talk to him anytime we want and although I love Skype, its just not the same. So can't wait to see how much he has changed. We are so proud of our Sailor!

Warriorettes competed for a State dance title in Pom on Saturday March 13th. Jessica and I started the day off by getting up at 4:30am to get ready to go. We had to meet the team at the High School at 6am. After a bag check and a run through on the routine, it was time to hit the road to Champaing. We arrived at the Assembly Hall about 7:30am. checked in, did the music sound check and then it was the start of an extremely LONG DAY! Performances started at 8:05am and a team performed every 5 minutes. The girls took the floor at 1:15pm and had a flawless routine. It was so awesome to see them perform at the Assembly Hall! We watched several more performances, then about 3:30pm we took all the girls to Bioggi's Italian Restaurant for some yummy food. Got back to to the Assembly Hall about 5:30pm to watch the rest of the performances and get ready for the awards ceremony. There were schools from all over Illinois. FINALLY after spending the last 14 hours in Champaing, it was time for the awards ceremony. The girls were nervous as the best Tuscola has ever finished was 6th. So we anxiously awaited to hear the results. The judges went through all the different dance categories and finally came to ours. These girls competed against the best of the best in Illinois and did a SUPER JOB! We placed 3rd and the girls were so excited with that. You would have thought they were the state champions..HA HA! 2nd Place went to Fieldcrest and first went to a Catholic school and they were both up by Chicago so I think these girls did AWESOME!!! CONGRATULATIONS WARRIORETTES ON A FANTASTIC SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are some pics from today. One is a picture of all the teams that performed at the Assembly hass. there were 91 teams.

What an awesome day for the Warriorettes. They competed in competition yesterday in Tuscola. There were 26 schools that came and participated. The girls placed 2nd and FINALLY got the score they wanted and qualified for STATE!!!!!!!! The Warriorettes will be competing for the State title on March 13th at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall!!!! The other highlight of the day was when Jessica won the Rising Star award. Each competition the judges will select girls that they think did an awesome job on their performance and facial expressions. Girls that really stand out from the rest of the team. Out of 26 schools yesterday, they chose 6 girls to receive this award and Jessica was one of them.WOO HOO!!!!!! We are so proud of her. She will be recognized at state and will have her name in the state program for being a Rising Star.

Well, basketball season for Jenny is almost over. She has only 4 games left. Jenny has scored 5 baskets this season. Which is really good because she only got 1 basket last year. Well, Jordan has been in Italy for almost 2 months now. He is really enjoying his time over there. He went with a few of the guys from the base and they went sight seeing. He emailed us some pictures and they were awesome. Lots of old statues. Jordan said while he is there his plans are to go deep sea fishing and snow boarding on Mount Etna. Jordan got his first tattoo while over there. Its on his back between his shoulder blades. Jerry said it was just a matter of time. But at least he got it somewhere that he can cover it up. I suggested something along the lines of "I Love Mom" but he just laughed at me and said maybe next time. I will hold him to that! HA HA!!!We asked Jordan what he would like to have shipped to him while he is over there. His one request was his guitar, so I packaged it up really good and mailed it to him. He is in heaven now!!! I also made him some cookies, brownies, banana bread and send some star burst and sour gummy lifesavers to him along with some toiletries. Oh the things we do to make our kids happy:) Jenny is doing a project at school. She read a book called Flat Stanley. To make a long story short, she made a flat Jenny ( she drew her body and put a picture of herself as the head)and mailed it to Jordan. He had to take Flat Jenny with him one day wherever he went (thank goodness it could be folded up and put in his pocket). Jordan took her around Italy and down to the farmers market. So he wrote about their trip and added some pics and he is mailing it back to Jenny. She will have to take it to school for a grade. I think Jenny's definitely traveled the farthest. Thank Goodness Jordan was a good sport about it and helped her out. We didn't know anything about it until one night we were video skyping with Jordan and he asked where Jenny was, when she came into the room, he held up her picture and showed her he got it. She just laughed and told him what he had to do with it. Jordan is going to be back in the stated in June. He will get to come home for 2 weeks and then he will go to his permanent base which will be in Jacksonville, FL. He said he will not be going back out on another tour until Dec 2011. Italy is 7 hours ahead of us so its really hard sometimes to catch him online. But thank goodness for Skype. It's free and a great way to communicate with loved ones and friends far away!

Jessica is on the Tuscola High School dance team. They are in their competition part of their season. Every Saturday in Jan and Feb, we are traveling all over for their competitions. If they score high enough they will go to State in March. Their first performance was on Saturday in Charleston. Their theme is super hero's. They placed 2nd with a score of 77. The first place team was their rival Unity and their score was 77.4 so it was really close. The girls need to get a score of 80 to make it to state. So they are close and have 4 more competitions to make it.

Jenny is playing basketball right now. She is on the 3rd & 4th grade girls biddy basketball team. She has been doing really well. First game she scored a basket and her 2nd one she was fouled and got to shoot 2 free throws. She made one of them. She is doing awesome. Her favorite part is stealing the ball from the other team, she likes to sneak behind them and smack the ball out of their hands.

Well, Tuscola finally got some snow. We got about 6 inches of it. Jerry was super excited because he was able to get his snow blower out of the garage! I guess it's a guy thing, because it was not a big deal to me. Girls enjoyed the day in the snow with some friends, and the first thing Jenny did was go out and make a snow angel.

Jenny is a member of the 4th grade K-Kids Club at school. They do service projects through out the year. In October they raked leaves for the Shut-in, November they collected money for a local Soldier that was wounded in Iraq. And today they are bell ringers for the Salvation Army outside our local post office. I love the fact that Jenny gets to do all this community service. Well, Today is the day!!! Jordan is flying to Italy for a 6 month deployment with the Navy. He said he will have a layover in Ireland while they refuel. He is really excited but also a little nervous so please say a little prayer for him. Italy is 7 hours ahead of us so he is going to have to do some adjusting to the time difference. They gave all the guys Ambien so they will be able to sleep on the plane ride. Jordan said it's a 15 hour flight! Here is Jordans address if you want to write to him while he is gone. I am sure he would appreciate any mail he can get as he will probably really be missing home. Jordan is going to get back in the States in June and will be home for 2 weeks in July!

Hello Family and Friends,
I have neglected my blog and thought i would take a few minutes to catch everyone up on what is going on. Jordan graduated from his schooling in Pensacola,FL in October and came home for 2 weeks. We had a wonderful visit with him. We were sad when it was time for him to leave. Jordan is now stationed in Brunswick, Maine until Nov. 29th. On that day, Jordan is leaving for Sigonella, Italy. He is going to be stationed there for 6 months. He is super excited. This is one country he wanted to visit while he was in the Navy! When Jordan gets back he will be able to come home for a 2 week visit. He said sometime around 4th of July! Jerry and I told him that we are expecting some awesome Italian wine shipped home:) Jordan is now an Aviation Electrician and he works on P3 planes.
For those of you that know my sister Kim, she is graduating from Nursing school in Dec. I am so proud of her and I know she is going to be an awesome nurse. Early Congrats Kim!!!!
Nothing new with the Knight's. We have had a little break from sports. Jenny will be starting basketball soon and Jami is going to try out for the school Dance team. Prayers for Jami please. She really wants to make the team and I think she would be an awesome dancer.
Finally, Prayers are needed for my Aunt Elaine. She came off the steps wrong early one morning and really did a number on her knee. She has a High grade near complete or complete ACL tear, a complex meniscus tear, bone contusions, a Grade 4 displaced cartilage, and a large amount of joint effusion (fluid on the knee). I pray that she will have a speedy recovery. Love ya Aunt Elaine!!!!

Congratulations to the Stirrett's

Back in early September I asked friends and family to pray for our friend Megan who was pregnant and having lots of complications. We needed baby Stirrett to stay in mommy's tummy as long as possible. Well......after all the prayers, Baby Stirrett listened and waited until last night to enter the world. He was approx 4 days overdue. Megan gave birth to a healthy baby boy last night about 8:41pm. He was 7 lbs and 15 oz and 20 inches long. Mommy and baby are doing great. Mikie and Megan have not named him yet. But I have seen pictures and he is absolutely adorable. Congratulations to Mikie and Megan and also big brother Maddix. We love you all and we are so happy for you!

Here are pictures of Jenny playing soccer. She has finished another season. This year she scored 3 goals for her team. Her most memorable goal came when they were playing against Arcola. They were losing 6-0 and right before the 4th quarter was over, Jenny scored the only goal for her team. She was so happy. We are done with soccer until the spring!

Well, once again we survived Homecoming week. The girls both looked so pretty in their dresses. It was Jessica's last homecoming. The Homecoming dance was on Saturday September 26th. I can't believe how much these girls have grown up!

Jami had her first date for Homecoming. His name is Nolan. They are total opposites! Nolan is extremely quiet and shy and then there is Jami....Very outgoing and very active.

It's that time of year again! Homecoming week in Tuscola. One of the traditions is the Powder-Puff football game. Jami is the only one that chose to play this year. I have a new hobby! It is collecting coupons. Yes, Coupons!!! I am obsessed with it. I have even gone so far as to buy coupons on ebay! But I have also learned to save alot of money and that makes Jerry extremely happy. He loves it so much. He has even gone with me to do my shopping so he can see what I save. Yesterday Jerry, Jenny and I went to Meijer. My total bill before I gave the lady my coupons was $154.96 I gave the lady my coupons and when she was all done. I had saved $63.44 and only had to pay out of pocket $91.52. I am a beginner, but as i get the hang of it. I expect my out of pocket amount to continually decrease. You too can become a coupon junkie!!! Just start printing out online coupons form some of these sites and they are good at Walmart, Schnucks (they double them up to .55) County Market, and Meijer. I also collect the coupons out of the Sunday paper. The other day I found coupons online for Honey Bunches of Oats cereal. $2.00 coupons. well, I took those to Meijer who had the cereal on sale for $2.00 a box. I came home with 6 FREE boxes of cereal. Hello to all my friends and family,
I am once again asking for your prayers for our friend Megan and baby Stirrett! Update from Megan is that baby Stirrett is breach and she is still having small contractions. She needs to hold out until at least Saturday as she will then be 34 weeks. Baby Stirretts size is good and Megan said that after Saturday they will no try and stop her contractions. So I ask that you please pray for Megan to go as long as possible without delivering too early, also that the baby will turn so he will not be breach and also that Megan has an easy delivery. Please also pray that when she does delivery Mommy and baby will be healthy. Please also pray for Mikie and Maddox (Her husband and little boy) as I know this has probably been just as stressful for them as it has been for Megan....We love you Megan and Baby Stirrett you guys are so special to us!

Well, School is back into full swing. The girls have their first week under there belt and are ready to take on the rest of the year. Jessica is starting tomorrow @ Parkland College. She will go there Tues-Fri. She is taking 2 classes this semester. They are Medical Terminology and Orientation/Health Careers. She will be done with these Dec 11th. Then will not start back @ Parkland until Fall of 2010. Jami is working @ the IGA when she is not in school and hanging out with her friends. Jenny is getting ready to start Soccer again. She asked Jerry the other day if she could play football next year. He told her no that she needs to do "Girl" sports. She was not too happy with that response. I definitely think she should have been a boy. She loves being out in the garage with him. They have been cutting wood together for the fire pit so the girls can have friends over after the football games. He gave Jenny her own pair of gloves and she has her own hack saw. It is hilarious to watch them and listen to their conversations with each other.

It's Football time and that means it is time for us to watch our 2 favorite teams play! Tuscola Warriors Football kicks off this Friday. We are going to go watch our nephew James play and also watch Jessica perform @ half time for the Dance Team. Hopefully the WARRIORS will make it to STATE!!! It's also time to watch the PITTSBURGH STEELERS kick-off their season and win another SUPER BOWL TITLE!!!!! Life is Good!

I have a request for all my friends and family that read my blog. Please keep a friend of mine in your prayers. Her name is Megan and she is very special to Jenny and I. She is pregnant with her 2nd baby and having some complications. Please pray that baby Stirrett will be healthy and that he will wait a little while longer before he decides to come into this world. He is not due until October! But he is trying to arrive early. Please pray that he will hold on just a few more weeks!

Back to School Time

Hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end for the girls. Monday Aug 10th, I have to go register the girls for school. It is going to be expensive this year! The first day will be August 19th. Where has the summer gone? Jessica is going to be a Senior. She has all of her credits for school so she is going to Parkland College Tue-Thurs morning, and then has classes at the High School in the afternoons. So not only am I paying for her to go to high school, we have fall tuition at Parkland along with the purchase of books for those classes. Jessica's goal in life is to be a dentist so this is going to help her get a head start on her college classes. Jessica is also in Student Council and on the Dance team so she is going to be very busy. Plus she still has her job at Polo. Jami is going to be a sophomore. She is going to be in FCCLA (Future Community and Career Leaders of America), Lifesavers, and she is going to try the Drama Club this year. She also works part time at the Tuscola IGA. Jenny is going into 4th grade. She is getting ready to start fall soccer also. Our Friday night's are going to be booked for football games. Our nephew James is on the Varsity football team so we will be traveling to all the games and watching him play. Before we know it, the school year will be almost over and I will be planning Jessica's graduation :( Hope you are all having a great summer!!!

Florida Vacation

We are finally home from our week in sunny Florida! It was an awesome time. We took the girls to Panama City Beach for 6 days of fun. While there, they went riding on jet ski's, we swam with the dolphins, rode on a banana boat and even para sailed over the ocean. Jessica and Jami also had to get their thrill ride in. Last year while in Colorado, they sky coasted over the Royal Gorge. This year, the rode the Sling Shot. It shot them 360 feet into the air. They loved it. We had the best Jack Daniel's ribs at a place called Pineapple Willy's, and had dinner one night @ Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville. Thursday we
headed to Pensacola so we could spend a little time with Jordan. Pensacola is not near as nice as Panama City, but it was fun. We drove across the 3 mile long bridge that is over Pensacola Bay. I don't know how many of you know it but I have a fear of bridges over water. Jerry thought it would be funny to take me over it not once, but 3 times!!! We went on Jordan's base one day while he was in school and went to the National Naval Aviation Museum. It was awesome. We even got a private tour behind the restricted area by a retired pilot. He took us to where they are restoring the old planes. There is one that they found in Lake Michigan that they are working on. He also showed us all of the old planes that they store there. It was really neat. We took Jordan and 3 of his friends to the Outback for dinner and then went bowling. Let me tell you, you have never really been bowling until you have been with 4 sailors! Let's just say it was a night that we will never forget! They were absolutely hilarious! But now the fun is over and we are home. Oh I almost forgot. Jordan is going to be home in October for about 2 weeks. He is going to be stationed on a new base to finish his schooling. He will either be going to Maine or Washington (the state). Hope everyone is having a safe and fun summer!!!

Jordan came home for 4th of July weekend. We picked him and his friend Alex up at the airport in Indy on Friday night and took them back to the airport on Monday afternoon. We had a wonderful visit with them. Jordan's girlfriend also came down to Tuscola on the Amtrak. She is from Wisconsin. Jordan was able to spend time with his friends all weekend and then on Sunday, we had all the family over for a cookout. It was nice for everyone to get to spend time with him. He has really grown up alot and we are so proud of our Sailor!

Well, The girls decided that they wanted to play Mud Volleyball this year on the 4th of July. They formed their team, made their own shirts for it and were anticipating a fun day in the mud. Jenny finished her softball season tonight. She did really well. Her team was 8-1. Jenny likes being the catcher for her team. She is done with this league, but she is subbing for the age group above her. So she has a game tomorrow night, then she is playing in their tournament all next week. She is becoming quite the ball player. Jerry was her coach and he did an awesome job. He coached her as a coach, not as her dad and they actually got along really well. HA HA!

Our Little girl is growing up on us!!! Jami went for her first job interview yesterday. She interviewed to be a cashier at the Tuscola IGA...It is our local grocery store. Today they called her and told her she got the job:) We are so proud of her. She is going to be working and making her own money so she won't have to come to mom and dad for money all the time....ha ha (wishful thinking on our part). Anyway. We are so proud of you Jami. You are going to do a great job. So next time you are in the IGA... look for Jami:)

Jordan is coming home for a visit!

Jordan is going to be coming home for a visit 4th of July weekend! And let me tell you we are so excited. We have not seen him for several months. To start the weekend, Jordan's girlfriend Jenna is going to come into Champaign on the Amtrak on July 2nd. It was supposed to be a surprise, but she let it slip and he found out. But that's OK. I will be going to Champaign that evening and picking her up. The girls are really excited because they had so much fun with her when we were in Chicago. They are going to have a girls night before we get Jordan on Friday. Jordan and his roommate Alex along with Russell are going to be flying into Indianapolis on July 3rd. I am going to go over with Jordan's girlfriend and picking them up. Fireworks in Tuscola are that evening so hoping we make it back for them. On Saturday, the boys are going to have breakfast with the American Legion out at the park. Then the boys, Jenna, Jessica and Jami are going to be participating in Mud Volleyball. They have formed their own team. Jenny thinks it is totally gross that they are all going to be playing in the mud and i totally agree with her! I will definitely take lost of pics and post them. Saturday night the boys will be going out with their friend Sam. He is also in the Navy with them. Russ and Jordan are stationed in Pensacola, and Sam is in Bethesda, Maryland. Sam is getting married on July 18th so the boys are going to have his Bachelor party while they are home. The boys are supposed to be Groomsmen in Sam's wedding but they are not sure that they can get leave to come home for it. So they are going to celebrate with him while they are all here. Sunday will be a day of rest and possibly a family cookout. Jordan,Russ and Alex will be heading back to Florida on Monday July 6th. We are so excited and can't wait to spend some time with him. We will only have to wait a short while before seeing Jordan again. We will be traveling to Pensacola on July 25th to spend a week with him and of course spend time on the beach!

However the next 2 have been rained out and now we have a double header on Saturday. Jenny is also subbing as needed for the age group above her. She plays in the 7-8 yr old league and she subs for the 9-10 yr old teams when they do not have enough players. She is turning into quite the ball player. Well, Summer has officially arrived for the Knight girls! They went to school this morning to get their report cards and are now out for the summer. School will resume August 19th and at that time we will have a Senior, a Sophomore and a 4th grader. Woo Hoo! Summer is going to be a busy one. Jenny is playing softball on the city league and she has games every Monday and Wednesday for the next 6 weeks. Jerry and I are coaching her team. I think Jerry is also gong to help his brother Jeff coach the JFL football team. Jessica completed a week of Lifeguard training at the U of I and she is going to be a lifeguard at the public pool in Tuscola. She is also on the school Pom Pon team so she will have camp this summer for that also. Jami is just hanging out all summer with her friends at the pool. We are planning on going to Florida the last week of July so that we can spend some time with Jordan. He is doing awesome. He said he really likes it down there. What's not to like about Florida? DUH! Jordan's friend Russell will be stationed in Florida soon. He is flying down there on May 28th so Jordan will have someone from home to hang out with. Jordan made it to Florida. Jordan had to catch a bus on base at 1:30am and they were to be at the airport by 2am. Jordan's girlfriend (Jenna) met him at the airport so she could see him off. He left the Chicago airport on Sunday at 6am and was in Florida by 11:30 Eastern time. He said he has 2 new room mates and that they are really nice guys. He also said that he is so close to the ocean, he can see it out some of the windows. Jordan said he will be at the beach every time he is allowed off base. His girlfriend is also going to be in the Navy. She leaves for basic on July 7th and then she too will be in FL. She is so sweet and we really like her. I will post Jordan' s new address as soon as I get it from him. Jordan will be in Florida for the next year so he can complete his "B" school. Jerry and I have already decided that we are going to have to plan a summer vacation there so we can spend some time with him.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Jordan is going to be leaving Great Lakes, IL and is heading to Pensacola, FL. He is flying out on Sunday (May 3rd) and will be stationed in Pensacola for the next year. I will post his new address on here as soon as I have it. Keep him in your prayers and he travels and starts another chapter in his life in the NAVY!!! We are so proud of Jordan and we love him very much. It is going to be really hard not getting to see him every couple months. Thank goodness though for cell phones as I will be calling him often to make sure he is doing OK.

Jessica went to her Jr. Prom last night and took her boyfriend Austen as her date. The theme was "Shanghai Moon". They had dinner and the dance at "Tuscany" an Italian steakhouse, then this morning at 4am. They loaded onto charter buses at the High School and went to Kings Island in Ohio for Post Prom. They will come home late tonight.

Weekend in Chicago

We left on Friday and spent the weekend in Chicago with Jordan. He is doing awesome. Jordan just completed his "A" school and earned 8 college credits for it. He is going to be stationed in Pensacola,FL for his "B" school and he is leaving on Thursday April 30th. So we went to Chicago to spend some time with him before he left. It was a beautiful weekend. Saturday we went into Chicago and went to the Navy Pier. What an awesome place. We had lots of fun and all 3 girls had to go to Build-A-Bear and make one. Jordan's girlfriend came down from Wisconsin and spent the day with us. She is a really sweet girl. Her name is Jenna and she is going to college in Osh Kosh. She is starting her basic training for the Navy in July. Jordan's friends Sam and Russell also got to spend the day with us and that was nice. We had not seen the boys since they left for basic in January. So once I have a new address in Florida for Jordan, I will be sure and email it to everyone.

Well, Jessica is officially done for the season in softball. On Wednesday April 1st, Jessica called to say that her coach thought she severely jammed or broke her pinkie finger. My first response was "HA-HA April Fools on mom!!!" Unfortunately Jessica did not think that was funny and neither did I when she got home from practice. We immediately went to Champaign to Convenient Care because not only could she not move her finger, she had lost feeling in her hand and it was ice cold all the way up to her elbow. We got up there and they took x-rays and told us that she had broken her finger and that we would need to see the orthopedic surgeon on Thursday and he would decide if it was bad enough to have surgery. This doctor was being nice and didn't want to frighten Jessica until she saw the surgeon. We walked into our appt and the surgeon pulled out Jessica's x-rays and showed us that she had jammed her finger so bad that she broke off part of the bone that her knuckle joint rests in. So he was going to have us meet him next door at the surgery center and they were going to do surgery. Her surgery was about 1 hour long and she did great. She had a bone graph done. They took a piece of plastic and screwed it in to replace the bone she shattered. So she will permanently have a small screw in her finger. Her hand is casted for 2 weeks and then we go back to have her stitches removed. He is then going to recast for another 2 weeks and then she will have physical therapy to start moving her pinkie again. So she is going to stay on the softball team and be a cheerleader for them. But she will not be able to actually play the rest of the season.

Jam session

This is what I call Jordan's Jam session. While he was home, Jordan broke out his guitar. He along with his cousin James and some of his friends played the guitar all afternoon. The only thing missing was Jay and his banjo. Next time he will have to bring it so he can jam with Jordan. That would be something awesome to watch.

Jenny has wrapped up her frst season of Biddy-Basketball. She did awesome. Jordan came home the weekend of her last game and got to watch her play ball. He must have been her lucky charm, because that day Jenny scored her first basket EVER! She was so excited.
